EPV SOLAR, Inc. (formerly Energy Photovoltaics, Inc.), a thin-film solar module manufacturer and technology developer headquartered in New Jersey, USA, has received the New Jersey Clean Energy Manufacturer of the Year Award. This award recognizes EPV SOLAR’s leadership role in growing the market for clean energy technologies, stimulating economic development, and demonstrating the benefits of clean energy manufacturing. The award was presented at the international headquarters of EPV SOLAR by NJ Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Joseph L. Fiordaliso on behalf of the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. The prestigious award includes promotional recognition of the company throughout the entire State of New Jersey.
“With the support of businesses like EPV SOLAR, we are well on our way to laying the groundwork to change our energy future,” said New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Joseph L. Fiordaliso. “EPV SOLAR not only contributes to solar capacity in New Jersey and the world but also contributes to the State’s economic growth. We applaud their leadership.”
Mr. Scott T. Massie, CEO of EPV SOLAR, commented, “EPV SOLAR would like to congratulate its employees, all of whom played a significant role in earning the New Jersey Clean Energy Manufacturer of the Year Award. I would also like to thank the State of New Jersey for recognizing EPV SOLAR's 16 years of clean energy manufacturing excellence. Our solar manufacturing technology and products play a leadership role in the economical development of clean energy – which will have an increasingly important position in reducing global warming emissions. EPV SOLAR intends to be a global leader of thin-film solar products including BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics) used in 'green' buildings around the world. This award demonstrates that our initiative is appreciated and that clean energy manufacturing and economic growth can occur simultaneously.”
EPV SOLAR announced $77.5 Million of new financing on June 20, 2007, for the purpose of expanding its thin-film photovoltaic module manufacturing capacity. EPV SOLAR plans to expand capacity by approximately 85 MW per year for the next several years. Several U.S. states and European countries are currently in negotiation with EPV SOLAR for manufacturing capacity expansion. The company was founded in 1991 in Princeton, NJ, USA, as a thin-film photovoltaic equipment manufacturer. EPV SOLAR develops its own manufacturing equipment for production of high-performance, low-cost amorphous-silicon thin-film photovoltaic modules and products. EPV SOLAR has also received the Euromoney and Ernst & Young Global Renewable Energy Award in Technology for 2007, which recognizes achievement for driving growth in the renewable energy industry sector.
