February 14, 2008 - Robbinsville, NJ, USA:

EPV SOLAR, Inc. (formerly Energy Photovoltaics, Inc.), a leading thin-film photovoltaic module developer and manufacturer headquartered in New Jersey, USA, announced today the appointment of T. J. Glauthier to its Board of Directors. Mr. Glauthier, management consultant and financial advisor to companies in the energy and “cleantech” sector and president of TJG Energy Associates, LLC, served as Deputy Secretary and COO of the U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) from 1999 to 2001. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Secretary, Mr. Glauthier served at the White House as the Associate Director for Natural Resources, Energy and Science in the Office of Management and Budget.

Scott T. Massie, CEO of EPV SOLAR, commented on Mr. Glauthier’s recent appointment: “Having a person of Mr. Glauthier’s caliber and breadth of experience on our Board of Directors is of great significance to this company. His knowledge of finance, public policy, corporate management, alternative energy companies, electric utilities, and the economics of renewable energy will prove invaluable as EPV SOLAR continues its aggressive capacity and product-line expansion.” Mr. Massie continued, “A company is defined in large part by those who guide its development; the appointment of Mr. Glauthier demonstrates EPV SOLAR’s commitment to excellence in thin-film technology and to being a world-class leader in photovoltaic manufacturing and applications.”

“Thin-film solar technology creates a whole new future for solar power in the world,” said Mr. Glauthier. “Within the next five years, as the global demand for a reliable, renewable energy source escalates, the price of thin-film power will become competitive with that of traditional electric power. Moreover, thin-film PV has tremendous market potential because of its architectural versatility. It is exciting to be on the Board of a company with a strong heritage in thin-film development and large scale manufacturing.”

Mr. Glauthier, a graduate of Claremont McKenna College and the Harvard Business School, serves on the Boards of Directors of Union Drilling, Inc.; EnerNOC, Inc.; and the San Mateo County Resource Conservation District. He is also an advisor to Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency and a consultant to various large corporations through his association with Booz Allen Hamilton’s global energy practice.
